Yahooite and the Googleite

The advance of Google after the millennium had also been meteoric but Yahoo has always been fundamentally different, the Yahoo-ite is a member of a true community, a community that Yahoo has served and embraced for many years. Up until Google’s IPO its rise had been through search popularity and whilst this was extremely powerful the Google’ite was not part of a community in the same way as a Yahoo’ite, the relationship between Google and its users was cold and based purely on search.

This all changed with the IPO as Google became not only commercial but also moved strongly towards building its own community, many of the community based services that Google now offers were founded from the success stories of Yahoo. Whilst being cash rich and innovative Google is still striving to deliver to the Google’ites the very same benefits that the Yahoo’ite has enjoyed for years.

There is clear evidence though that Yahoo has also looked at the other side of the deal, Google’s success in pure search could not be ignored and Yahoo is now making great strides to deliver a purer, faster and more relevant search experience to compliment the diverse set of services and community benefits.
