Anybody with a Dell computer who has Vista installed and wishes to have internet access will have found that keeping the connection is not as easy as it should be. There is an issue regarding the updates that automatically come through, and which we have tried to stop without success, that are causing problems with the internet connection and is a complete pain for anybody that uses the internet all day at work.
To compound this problem, Microsoft are warning that Windows Vista users will encounter more problems with a forthcoming service pack for the operating system is stopping some third party programs working.
The Vista SP1 update is being released to business’s in February this year and will be available to general public by mid March. It will hit security programs, causing some to stop working and others to only partially work.
A preparatory update that was needed before SP1 could be introduced has been withdrawn by Microsoft pending further investigation.
This is not the only headache being caused by the Vista application. Old installation discs that are meant to simplify the business of hooking up to broadband internet services are finding that it simply doesn’t work when Vista is installed in your machine.
Support form Vista regarding this issue has been rather scant and some users are finding it can take weeks to resolve the problem.
