Social Network Sites More Popular Than Adult Sites

This seedy underbelly of online activity is one of the most lucrative enterprises on the World Wide Web however recent trends in use have surprised E-stat analysts.
Although the demographic data was unsurprising in that most visits to adult sites were by males the time at which those visits were performed have raised a few eyebrows. The Hitwise Analyst Weblog provided data to show that the majority of visits to adult sites from UK internet users were performed on a Sunday morning. Whether this new trend of behaviour on the day of rest will change now that every mother and wife is aware of this has yet to be decided.

High Speed Digital Report Arriving…Some Time Soon!

An expected report on the state of the UK’s digital economy looks as though it may be delivered late after a spokeswoman for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport said it would be available ‘before the end of the month’.
The Digital Britain report was set up to examine the UK’s internet habits and concerns. Particular attention is being given to privacy, security and quality of content. It will also take into account new developments in digital media such as public service broadcasting and digital radio.

Google Drops Print Ads in the Latest Cut Backs

Launched in November 2006, Google Print Ads was a media venture from Google Inc and 50 partner newspapers in an attempt to bring increased advertising revenue to the US publishing industry. Google Print Ads rapidly spread to over 800 publications and offered clients an opportunity to search publications using various criteria such as demographic, distribution and cost. Google announced this week that due to the product not creating the impact that Google and its business partners wanted, Google Print ads will be no more after February 28th.

DECE, a US entertainment, retail and IT consortium have revealed their plans to transform the way we access, purchase and play to digital entertainment content.
It will not be the news that the leading digital entertainment supplier Apple wants to hear as they are already having to fight on several other fronts including the emergence of Amazon as a digital music retailer and other peripheral issues like the ongoing iTunes – EMI – Beatles issue concerning the sale of the bands back catalogue through the iTunes site.

Google Maps Mobile Apps Up To Speed
Monday, den 12. January 2009Many avid mobile wireless internet surfers were perturbed by the Google Maps application’s functionality when searching for business addresses. Although it generally only affected the diehard mobile applications enthusiast, it was an area where Google really dropped the ball.
Google Maps delivers directions and contact details to destinations however in the previous version of Google Maps, whenever a user inserted a name of a business, the software would only recognise it as part of the address. This seems like a rather elementary oversight and has now been corrected.

Google has risen at an unprecedented rate over its ten year history and its innovations have changed the way that cyber surfers search the internet. Some industry commentators are claiming that companies are beginning to get intimidated by Google’s rapid growth and ambitions to move into other areas beyond its core business, search and advertising.
The evidence for this speculation has been seen recently as Microsoft was awarded an estimated 500 million USD contract with telecommunications giant Verizon. It is believed that this was the latest in a trend of hostility toward Google in response to the events that preceded the Federal Communication Commission’s wireless spectrum auction in March 2008.

Colne Community School Sixth form centre gets facelift thanks to Colchester web firm

High Position, which specialises in web design and search engine optimisation, recently moved into the former headquarters of insurance giant Royal London and found the building came with more than just a lick of paint.

Colchester web company backs fight against knife crime

Ann Oakes-Odger started her campaign after her son Westley was tragically stabbed to death three years ago in Colchester. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to bring public attention to the causes of knife crime.
