The world of search engine optimisation (SEO) may be a new tactic for cybercriminals in their quest to spread malware through infected websites. It seems that these hackers are always hard at work when it comes to spreading malware in the most creative and unusual method possible.
Recent weeks has seen plenty of SEO poisoning, otherwise known as Blackhat SEO. The idea is that hackers entice web users into clicking onto infected websites after typing in specific search terms in Google. The page results that come up in Google may result in users clicking onto an infected site without actually realising that it is an infected site.

Bionic Hand Picks Up Award

Who said the bionic woman isn’t real? On the other hand, maybe her limbs are a more likely possibility of creation than over exaggerating stunts and super human strengths! It would appear that the bionic hand has won The UK’s top engineering prize. The MacRobert Award was given to the i-LIMB, which is a breakthrough in medical science aimed at acting as a prosthetic device for people who are unfortunate enough to have lost their limbs.

Bill Gates Steps Down From Microsoft

June 2008We all know him for being the founder and creator of the multi-billion pound corporation Microsoft, allowing home users to enjoy the great internet from the comfort of their own homes and using one of the most widely known operating software in the world. Come June 27th Bill Gates will be stepping down from his position at Microsoft after 33 years, putting full chief executive Steve Ballmer in full control. Gates will be working one day per week and will be serving as board Chairman, however his focus will now be turned towards Philanthropy – very different from the internet world!

Computer Giant Dell To produce New Netbook

These have been designed for the developing world to promote low-cost computing and companies such as Dell are joining the ranks of offering these cut-down laptops. However, Dell has not yet revealed information about the netbook in terms of the pricing or the specifications.

Tune In To Messenger TV

Microsoft has recently announced the launch of the new Messenger TV, allowing Windows Live Messenger users to watch and share MSN videos whilst talking to friends and family at the same time. These will include programmes, clips, videos and shows, so just when you are chatting online to someone you can catch up on your favourite programmes online together – much like watching TV in the same room.
Microsoft is teaming up with Channel 4 and EMI in providing the content for MSN video, which will include popular Channel 4 clips and music videos. Prior to this new venture, there were no available messaging service that allowed the sharing of videos and programmes’; watching them together online is something that was non-existent.

IPhone To Be Sold In Ten Countries, By Vodafone

However, for the simple layperson like myself, all of the extra features would only go wasted should it land in my possessions and should therefore be promoted in ten other countries – such is the new announcement made on Tuesday (or thereabouts) from Vodafone, as they aim to sell the IPhone across ten different countries later this year.

It seems that there are some bright young stars shining above the rest, with one of the young stars winning an Award for her GCSE project! Ruth Amos, from Sheffield, designed and created a new device to help people using stair lifts. This simple horizontal hand rail, which is attached to the wall or banister serves as a useful purpose for people to hold onto when climbing up or down the stairs.

New Mesh Raises Questions For Developers

Bands Perform In Virtual Lands
Friday, den 11. April 2008Online social networking programme Second Life has seen the likes of Leo Wolff, aka Slim Warrior, perform live in a virtual world with her music band. Wolff first joined the online world in 2005, having bought a small plot of land with eight other fellow musicians. This followed with the opening of Virtual Garage, which displayed their music and saw performances.
